Solar Box Lentil Soup

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cupred or green lentils
  • 3 cupswater
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 tspcumin
  • 1 tspturmeric (optional)
  • 2 clovesgarlic or Β½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

Rinse lentils in water.

Combine all ingredients in a dark pot. Cover with lid.

Place in solar cooker or position in direct sunlight with reflectors focused on pot.

Cook 2–3 hours in full sun β€” pot should reach 200Β°F+ internally.

Check after 2 hours. Lentils should be fully soft and soup thickened.

Stir and serve. Season additionally if available.
