Solar Box Lentil Soup

Ingredients
- 1 cupred or green lentils
- 3 cupswater
- 1 tspsalt
- 1 tspcumin
- 1 tspturmeric (optional)
- 2 clovesgarlic or Β½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

Rinse lentils in water.

Combine all ingredients in a dark pot. Cover with lid.

Place in solar cooker or position in direct sunlight with reflectors focused on pot.

Cook 2β3 hours in full sun β pot should reach 200Β°F+ internally.

Check after 2 hours. Lentils should be fully soft and soup thickened.

Stir and serve. Season additionally if available.

- Red lentils cook fastest and don't require soaking β ideal for solar cooking.
- A black pot inside a clear plastic bag in direct sun reaches 180β200Β°F β enough to cook lentils.
- Solar cooking works best between 10amβ2pm in direct sun.
- No stirring needed β the slow even heat self-regulates.

Storage Notes
